An apartment building which was not taken forward, however, was an important developmental project in relation to forming ideas on new-build apartments which broke the mould of standard corridor access and highly cellularised plan forms within the flats.

This project backed onto the Rochdale Canal with a two-storey change of height between the road frontage
and the canal. It won two awards for its innovation.
