house 870

client: private client

The brief is for a large family house. The building itself nestles into the considerable southwards slope on the site so that it presents 3 storeys from the road side and 4 storeys from the garden side.

The lower ground and ground floors are contained within a brick plinth block, which occupies almost the full width of the site. The 1st and 2nd floors of the proposed house are configured as a narrow (6m wide) element which architecturally addresses the southern slope and long views.
